Professor Amsalu has made substantial and lasting contributions to the teaching and learning process. His key contributions include:
- In collaboration with Leicester University, UK, produced a teaching module on Qualitative Research Methods, which is being used by the postgraduate students.
- In collaboration with the Ethiopian PH Training Initiative with the support of the Carter Center and Teams from various Universities in the country, produced different modules on different health programs and diseases such as Expanded Program on Immunization, Safe Motherhood, Substance Abuse, Health Teamwork, Malaria, and Pneumonia in under five children.
- In collaboration with the Ethiopian PH Training Initiative with the support of the Carter Center and Teams from various Universities in the country, produced a Lecture Note on Health Service Management, which is being used by under and postgraduate students.
- Advice under and postgraduate students on their thesis.
- Review PhD proposals and research reports sent from IRB of the UoG and also reviews papers sent from International Publishers such as BMC and internal journals from UoG.
