Professor Amsalu Feleke was born in 1948 in Gondar, Ethiopia. He completed his elementary and secondary education in Gondar and pursued all levels of his higher education—from Certificate to B.Sc.—in the same town. He earned his Master of Public Health from Boston University in 1995 and received the academic rank of Full Professor from the University of Gondar on November 28, 2015.
With a rich background spanning several decades, he began his professional journey as a Medical Laboratory Technician under the Ethiopian Ministry of Health. He served in various areas, including Wollega, Harargie, and Gondar, in both technical and leadership roles. In 1998, he transitioned to academia by joining the University of Gondar from Haramaya University.
Professor Amsalu has taught undergraduate and postgraduate students in key areas such as Health Service Management, Public Health, Leadership & Governance, and Qualitative Research. His professional contributions include program coordination, research supervision, curriculum development, and administrative leadership.
