Binyam Chakilu Tilahun

Professor Binyam Tilahun leads the Center for Digital Health and Implementation Science (CDHi) at the University of Gondar. He oversees national and international digital health projects focused on eHealth, mHealth, and big health data, funded by organizations like WHO, BMGF, and Ethiopia’s Ministry of Health. His work centers on strengthening health systems through scalable digital solutions and capacity building.

He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Canada on a major global mHealth research project and holds a PhD in Medical Informatics from Germany, along with two master’s degrees. With over 12 years of global experience, he has pioneered Health Informatics education in East Africa, launching the first bachelor's and PhD programs in the field. He currently leads national initiatives to expand informatics training across Ethiopian universities.
